Saddles from late 1954 were the plain steel barrel type with no grooves. They were .250” in diameter. After mid 1958 the plain steel saddles were replaced by the .250” diameter threaded saddles that remained a standard part until sometime in 1968.In 1968 the .250” diameter steel saddles with the groove at each end were introduced.The groove took the diameter of the saddle down to between .215” to .220” at the bottom of the groove where the string was positioned.

Facing in the string direction, the saddle adjusts obliquely to improve the octave tuning function which has previously been the drawback with the standard two-strings-per saddle model saddles. Stability improves for the chord performance in the high position as well. It can be attached to the US model Telecaster® which uses this type of saddle. An acceptable Noh play doesn't cast a groove limit of the string.

There are no height screws in the saddles and each saddle is a different diameter so that they sit at different heights to compensate for the fingerboard radius. However, the Fender original Mustang saddles are assembled into the bridge loosely. Our "PR-Mu " saddles will fit the bridge perfectly and you won't see any gaps between the saddles. They will be more stable and the strings won't be move by hard picking. What's more, you can get more deep midrange and longer sustain due to the character of the titanium material.
